Anyway, here I am, modelling the present that has arrived - a Kath Kidson apron:
I needed a new apron so they must have be telepathic as I hadn't mentioned anything. Then we were handed a gift off both of them from their trip to Paris:
Some little French biscuits with some sort of filling - we are treating ourselves to 5 each per day!
Finally, over on Elaine's blog, she had shown how to make some vegetable stock cubes are are kept in the freezer. We have made the mixture but haven't tried it yet but it does look and smell lovely: here
Hi Dc, I have 3 lovely 'posh' aprons, a couple of them are CK. I don't actually WEAR them, as I hate aprons, but they hang on the kitchen door and look nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the bouillon cube mix. I tend to buy Maggi which I think is pretty 'grot-free' but this looks brilliant. Assume a mixture of leaf and veg solid, as there is so much flavour in celery and fennel leaves.
I haven't yet tested it but it doesn't seem to set solid so you are able to carefully scoop out what is needed. I just could not get mine as smooth as suggested so if I make it again, I will grate as many of the vegetables as possible and maybe it will be smoother.
DeleteWhat lovely gifts.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you are being very strong willed .... only 5 a day!!
We don't eat too much sweet stuff if possible but they are very sweet.
DeleteYou have a lovely thoughtful family! Those gifts are lovely X
ReplyDeleteI and we were really touched.
DeleteLoving the apron. I lasted about 6 months without an apron when we went travelling, (ended up using an old shirt to cook with) but now have a lovely large butchers style. Maybe I need to get more girlie!! Those biscuits are really nice, we bought some when we went to Paris last year - you really do not get much for your money, but we still have the tin (of course) and remember our visit very fondly each time we use it.
ReplyDeleteI get filthy if I don't wear one as I tend to wipe my hands down them all the time! These biscuits were in a box rather than a tin but we shall find a use for it none the less.
DeleteI'm lucky enough to work in Cath Kidston, it's the prettiest shop in the high street! I hope you enjoy your lovely new apron.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying it - but anything that keeps me clean is great no matter who made it.
DeleteLovely gifts, how lucky you are to have a Cath Kidston apron, very posh and those biscuits look devine. x
ReplyDeleteI had no idea I am so lucky to own something that is Cath Kidson. Guess I missed all the hype about her products.
DeleteLove the apron DC and those biscuits look yummy.
ReplyDeletePatricia x
Thank you and they were. Just finished them and have now put the box to one side until we can fathom out what to use it for.
