Yesterday, finally, saw me doing a little more Christmas cooking and I do mean a little. I used half a packet of pastry and made 16 mini/medium sausage rolls.
I didn't want to make anything sweet related with the other half and as it had been frozen, needed to use it up. A mozzarella cheese close to its use by date was in the fridge, so decided to make a 'pizza' but with the flaky pastry. Not too bad as it happened.
I have just realised I'd forgotten to put the December issue of the War Diary on-line. Sorry about that. Hope you enjoy reading it.
Grandaughter has requested Sausage Rolls for Christmas Eve, I have some flaky pastry and sausages in the freezer so that can be her job, fresh on the day. I haven't made pizza with pastry but I have made one with a savoury scone base which was quite nice and very quick to do.
ReplyDeleteThank you for updating your War Diary, I enjoy reading it. x
Glad you enjoy reading it.
DeleteI've really enjoyed reading your war diaries. Is there a year 4?
ReplyDeleteYes there is!
DeleteI havent actually done any christmas baking yet. I dont have a big freezer so tend to not do much, only as and when we need it.Well done you though.
ReplyDeleteMy baking starts this Wednesday when my daughter and my grandson are coming over after school to make some coconut ice, petit fours and fudge. A blast from the past as we did this when she was a child. Our Leo loves a bit of baking so guess some mince pies are on the cards too.
