First of all, congratulations to my DDiL who in a very short time, has been promoted to office manager in her new job!
Also, welcome to Rita Wendt And Mia Reilly via Bloglovin.
Also glad to hear that our middle grand-dog, Miss M., is recovering from being operated on to have her mouth sorted out from a grass seed that had wedged itself in and was making her mouth bleed very badly. Blasted grass seeds. S. also recently had to be operated on for a similar thing.

Well I have now worked out what to do with the leftover peel. Apparently once dried and stored in an airtight container (with a bag of silica gel if you have any), it can be used as fire-lighters:
On the left completely dry - on the right still drying. It takes between 1 and 2 days in the conservatory or airing cupboard depending on the weather. Makes the area smell fantastic.
Bet that would make a fire smell lovely.
ReplyDeleteWe won't be able to smell it as we have a wood burner but you might be able to on an open fire!
DeleteI wonder if it would enhance the results of meat and fish cooked in Bob's smoker?I must suggest this to him. Thanks for the idea !
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea. I hate opening the bin and throwing something away, I try to Google things now like: what can I do with a banana skin. You'd be surprised at the feedback.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip as well. I will try that, there are loads of good ideas that I would never think of.
DeleteGreat tip, thanks. I have loads of the silica packets. Will be doing this from now on.
ReplyDeleteHope it works but loads of people say it does!
DeleteGreat idea with the orange peel and I like Angela's idea of using it in a smoker, perhaps it could be used on a BBQ? Xxx
ReplyDeleteCan but try!
DeleteGood idea, I tend just to throw them on the fire wet .... I quite like the 'sizzle' :-)
