Read properly!

First of all, welcome to Faith Archer And Jillh via Bloglovin.

Pinch Punch, its the 1st of the month, blimey, where did June go? Far too hot for me chief. I wasn't too hot last night and eventually got chilly so found it difficult getting to sleep.

I made us a cheese and onion pie yesterday and by 08:30 had finished. I couldn't for the life of me, fathom out why all the onions wouldn't fit it!

After it came out the oven, then the tin, I divided it into 6 portions and the interior felt odd. On reading the recipe again, it turns out I should have cooked the onions first - doh:)

Luckily for us, we don't mind raw or even partially cooked onions, so it will still be enjoyed with salad over the next few days.

I would like to say you are never too old to learn from mistakes but will I ever get to the stage where I stop making them?

Our war diary for Year V has been updated, hope you enjoy it!

  1. It's the heat - it is affecting our brains as we cook. I was baking various items, and stopped to make a cup of tea. Got the jug of milk out of the fridge, and thought "that's gone off very quickly, depsite being in the fridge" - it was clearly thickened and off-colour. As I poured it down the sink, I realised I had grabbed the wrong jug- it was the one with the 'custard' I'd prepared earlier to pour into my quiche [the pastry was still 'baking blind' in the oven] SO cross with myself to have wasted good eggs and milk like that. At least you still got to eat your onions! Thanks for the War Diary Update. May warm Summer blessings, and cooler evenings come your way xx

    1. I skip read signs when out shopping, often to quite comical effect. I once followed a chap into the men's toilets wondering why he was going into the ladies!
