DB had a dental check up then off we went to market.
We had been struggling to find nuts in their shells so drove to a relatively near market to check it out. Had both walnuts and hazelnuts, plus we got our weekly apples, pears and some satsumas at a lower than normal price.
Bought some teacakes only to find they were not as fresh as last time. They will be used to make fruity bread and butter pudding so all is not lost, but disappointing all the same. Must remember to give them a squeeze before buying next time!
It is certainly getting busier out now, plus we have thick fog, so not a pleasant journey. Back home in time for scrambled eggs on toast for lunch, then I must prepare the small shopping list.
Although they are formulaic and often cheesy into the bargain, I have been kept entertained on the occasional afternoon with a Christmas movie - the shame of it:)
Do you watch your films on the True Christmas channel?
ReplyDeleteDD and I have watched some really bad films on there lately. It's shameless what they put out as Christmas entertainment.
One of the films wasn't even set at Christmas. It was earlier in the year and was about a young girl who they thought was dying of cancer so they bought Halloween and Christmas forward to make sure she saw them both.
Honestly who wants to be sobbing their heart out at a Christmas film.
It's only saving grace was that Sam Elliot was in it...lol.

No, Channel 5 or 5 Star.
DeleteNothing wrong with the odd Christmas movie! My young son has had friends staying over the past couple of days and it's been so hot here (mid 30Cs) that they can't play outside for long. Yesterday, they watched the kid's movie "Home Alone" on dvd and had a big bowl of popcorn. Way cheaper than taking them all to the movies! Meg:)
ReplyDeleteCould do with some sun here, though not the heat.
DeleteI press record on numerous Christmas movies but there is something special about the black and white ones that I love.
ReplyDeleteSome of the best are in black and white, I agree.
DeleteI have watched a few Christmas movies over the past couple of days. Still waiting for It's A Wonderful Life though. I need my good cry.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Ah, a good festive cry, for the right readons, always good.
DeleteI love cheesy films and watch them whenever I get the chance. Anne of Green Gables is one of my perennial ones and lots of old ones. Pretty Woman is another. I also love some of the Kindle Christmas books but they have to be reasonably well written even if the theme is cheesy and the ending predicted from the beginning! Love you new header.
ReplyDeleteHave a very happy Christmas. Sue
And the same to you too Sue.
DeleteWe are working our way through our stack of Christmas Dvds as well as some on the tele. We watched a really dire one the other day about people getting stuck in lifts on Christmas Eve ... that's 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa, there are certainly some ‘crackers’ out there!
