-5 overnight....

but we were warm enough under the duvets!

The snow is coming down well now and we are ‘under’ an amber weather warning until 10:00am. Probably another 2” fell overnight, and it is pretty to look at but our forecast for today has a wind chill of -11C! Our heating is set for 18C and so far, we haven’t lit the woodburner:

DDiL had a prang yesterday out with the dogs, skidding on black ice, under the snow, approaching a small bridge. Luckily she hit a fence and ground to a halt, two wheels off the road. DS had to drag her out with his old but very low gear vehicle. She was shaken but otherwise okay, thank goodness. Dogs were fine as well!

DB's forehead has now mended:
Lovely shape isn't it? Another scar to add to his growing list! Welcome to Janice Poffenroth via Bloglovin.

  1. It's beautiful stuff all this snow isn't it ... but it can be very dangeous. Glad your DDiL is okay. Alan only just managed to get back up our steep drive after venturing out yesterday, and that was in four wheel drive. My Fiat 500 wouldn't stand a chance so I'm staying put.

That is a nice neat scar thanks to your good nursing. It's taken a while to begin healing properly though ☹

    1. Scab fell off yesterday. Freezing here now, the semi thawed road is now crunchy!

  2. Oh dear - your DiL was lucky!
We've got about 6" now and the snow's still falling. Our local comprehensive school is closed but the primary is open. My daughter's fuming today. She's a secondary school teacher at a school about 20 miles away. After a bad journey which took twice as long as normal, she's now there having to cover for teachers who've not turnep up (who live much closer!!!).

  4. DiL was lucky the roads are lethal. Some of the side roads I saw this morning out walking were sheet ice 2"thick. I won't be driving anywhere.

  5. Glad your DDIL didn't suffer any breaks. Also glad the dogs are fine as well. Icy roads are not at all easy to navigate.

    God bless.

  6. It really sounds like you are having quite a time of it over there with all the snow. So glad that your DiL wasn't hurt. Hubbies cut looks like it is healing nicely. I've followed your blog from the beginning but my computer decided to do a reset at the beginning of the week and I lost everything. I've spent the last 3 days trying to get everything put back, that's why it looks like I'm a new follower.
