A change.....

We have had a new bathroom radiator fitted. The old one had lasted about 25 years. It looked like this, not too bad from a distance:
Close up of the bottom:
We meant to change it last year but forgot and didn’t want to risk another winter. Here is the new one:
Its 'fins' are inside rather than at the back, making it easier to hang a towel on if necessary:
Hopefully, it should see us out!

  1. That looks awfully like the state of my bathroom radiator! When I have the bathroom done, I want one of those floor to ceiling ones that you can hang towels, clothes, etc on. Stylish!

    1. It’s amazing how they suddenly deteriorate isn’t it?

  2. We ended up having the whole central heating system replaced last September as on closer inspection almost all our radiators looked like the one you removed. It was an unexpected spend but the difference is amazing ( not that It’s been on for about 5 weeks now).

    1. Ours is a bit temperamental due to the previous owner putting it in and not being 100% sure of what he was doing. A new one would be nice but not happening for quite a while.

  3. Those spends are a temporary pain in the wallet but it feels good when you know you won't have to worry about a tank or a rad for a long time to come.
