Another award!

Thank you to Patricia at aplacefor-everything.blogspot.com/  for nominating me for the versatile blogger award. It will take me time to get organised with this so as they say on the TV series Miranda – bear with, bear with!

Just to let you know that today, I am passing the 'Versatile Blogger' Award on to those of you mentioned below. It is rewarded to blogs that you thoroughly enjoy reading.

I don't know who makes up the rules for these awards (and in my 'old' age, I am becoming very much a rule breaker) so although one is supposed to nominate 15 blogs and say 7 things about yourself, can't say I can completely comply, but will do my best.

As with the Liebster Award, I'll try to nominate those I enjoy that so far, might not have received this award:

The first is to Sue over at flowerpotdays.blogspot.com
A fascinating one frugaldom.blogspot.com/

Phew!! Also, welcome to my new follower, Mrs. Tightwad.

Seven things about me:

I love being a wife and mother - the two best jobs in the world,
tracing my ancestors,
going for walks,
being a home maker,
making rag rugs,
canal boats,
the sound of the wind in the trees and electricity/phone wires!

  1. Thank you so much for the award.

It's nice to know you think I'm 'versatile', I thought I was just 'jumbled up' writing a bit about this and a bit about that.

Love your poppy strewn Blog, very pretty, it reminds me I have a big tub of saved poppy seeds that I must scatter as soon as we move. Who can resisit those lovely delicately petaled flowers popping up in nooks and crannies everywhere around the garden and then self seeding themselves for next year.

  3. How lovely / refreshing when you describe yourself(in 7 points) you talk about what you have done with your life and what you enjoy.

I get fed up with being asked when I meet someone "And what do you do?" like your job defines you.

It is good to read a blog that reflects this.

    Thanks!

    1. Thank you. I agree, we should not be defined by our jobs. Well, this is what I do now - I have worked pretty much full/occasionally part time for roughly 32 years - even when we were stationed in Germany. Although I am quite a way off my pension I am now able to take things more easy (am not allowed to work full time anyway due to stress related illness if I do). We live on my husband's pension - no mean feat - and enjoy rather than get depressed, at the challenges life brings us.
