Baubles and lights

Thought I would show you some of the vintage baubles we inherited. Some are post war leading through the 1960's and into the 1970's.

Have a look inside here. I think these may be from the 1960's at the latest.

  1. The second photo down are the same as some my granny had. My sister still has them all in perfect condition and gets them out ever year. I love them.

  2. At least you can still enjoy them when you see her and the decorations. We have another set of lanterns even older, definitely from the 1930's, which take old car light bulbs. A bit too dangerous to leave on so we only check them every now and then and keep them safely in their box.

  3. I love them. The sad thing is that I remember quite a few from my childhood and wished they'd been kept by my parents. I guess over the years they must have been broken and then replaced with more modern ones at that time. But where are those I ask? Have a great weekend.

    1. It's amazing where these sort of things disappear to isn't it?

    1. So do I but as we have a total of 3 fairies, which get rotated so they don't get jealous!, I keep forgetting to add this in the rotation.

  5. Love the vintage baubles. They have loads more character than some of todays offerings and I have to have a mix, the unbreakable ones being on the bottom tiers of our tree out of little hands reach! Our vintage glass ones still have pride of place but near the top!
