Just finished another dishcloth:
I now need to knit another 2 - 3 to make enough for this year which will release another 3 that are smaller and need to be used for washing floors etc.
Yesterday I sat on the settee for a couple of hours and began to cut some of the assorted textiles I have previously shown. I could have used the dining room table and a rotary cutter but the front room was warmer so sat in their using a pair of ultra sharp dressmaking scissors.
Made some yoghurt yesterday as well and today will be bread making day .
I really like your dishcloth - very Canadian!! Sounds like a nice down day yesterday. We all need that kind of day now and then. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteStill searching. I can find it as low as £1.75 for 5 litres but the postage is huge. My nearest Oriental/Asian supermarkets that sell 5l containers, is Norwich so it will have to wait until I next go that far afield!
DeleteIts the sort of weather this weekend that is perfect for knitting, far too cold and wet to go out and about. I did venture into our garden this morning but not for long because the wind gathered apace and it began hailstoning!
ReplyDeleteSame here as well - not looking forward to Sunday.
DeleteHope you've stayed warm and dry today. We had an hour in the garden, but a storm blew up and I ended up looking like a drowned rat as I was determined to finish the last bit! We have a tree uprooted on the next road and some roof tiles have been lost nearby.
ReplyDeleteWe had a really bad but short storm, maybe 20 minutes of gale force wind, very heavy rain and hail. We were in the conservatory at the time, sounded horrendous. Sounds worse up your end though.
DeleteSounds like you've been busy. The weather's been horrible and drizzly today and I didn't have dinner to make so I spent this afternoon knitting a sock. I love your dishcloth. Can I ask how big they are and what yarn, needles etc you use? I've seen a few designs on the internet and thought they might make a nice gift as a washcloth coupled with a bar of homemade soap.
ReplyDeleteThey measure around 7" to 8" square. I used 4.5mm needles (bamboo for my hands) and dishcloth cotton. If you click on making in my labels sections, then go down to 11September 2013 you will find the link for some free patterns and the cheapest cotton link I can find.
DeleteThanks for the information. I'm knitting socks at the moment and planning to make as many gifts as I can for folks for Xmas 2014 since the scarves I made for last Xmas were such a hit with everyone. I think a nice personalised washcloth and a bar of homemade soap will make a lovely gift.
DeleteLove your Canadian dish cloth. I am hoping my mam will bring me new dish clothes when she comes over in May.

Thank you. The pattern for it can be found as per the information given above to Helen.
