Welcome to FeolanKvothe and Kate Greenhalgh via Bloglovin.
We have been away over the weekend, thank you to all your comments and especially to SallyC for noticing the omission of the butter on the recipe - oops!
Actually, in my defence, I was making, photographing and writing at the same time so something was bound to be missed off.
Had a lovely few days with DS and FDiL plus the Grand-dogs. Master L. has certainly sprung up and FDiL is working wonders with him. Seems to be fully trained, dry at night for a few weeks now (he is around 19 weeks old at present). Miss S. was her usual laid back self as was Miss M, but she barks when we first arrive, until she remembers us, then she is fine.
Went for a long walk, had a quick pub lunch half way round and got drenched as it rained the whole time. Also had a meal out with them to celebrate our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. Now we are pulling in the reins regarding eating out (which we were doing a little too often for comfort) and food in general, trying to trim up a little.
We also played two new games (to us anyway) Pandemic - which took an age to get to grips with but was good once we did so. Also Ticket to Ride which we picked up straight away and thoroughly enjoyed. We rounded off with Monopoly which I won around 11:15 last night, first time for many a year I've won.
Hope you all had or are having a lovely week-end even though for some, the weather is not great.
Glad you had a good time visiting DS and FDiL. Those dogs sound such fun. Monopoly, that brings back memories of many moons ago playing on a Sunday afternoon as children. Raining here again today and a tad chilly too.

I think the weather at home was better than we had away, rained almost every day!
DeleteWeather is terribly rainy here at the South coast (not that we expected anything else for a Bankholiday Monday). I`m taking it easy, playing around on the computer as I`m still recovering from the dreaded slipped disc incident. Hoping to be fit enough to return to work tomorrow, albeit watching myself not to lift anything too heavy during my days at work. It could be weeks before all`s well again.
ReplyDeleteWeather seemed to get warmer and more sunny, the closer we came to home. Be careful, especially lifting at work.
DeleteWe've just bought Pandemic - not had a chance to play it yet but I like the idea of a game where we have to cooperate rather than compete. Not surprised it's complicated but glad you thought it was good! I'll have to check out Ticket to Ride now too.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you had a nice few days away and happy anniversary too :)
Thank you. We had to play Pandemic 3 times before we understood what we were doing. Event cards can only be used once, we kept on using them first time around. You really do need to work together to beat the board!
DeleteDo you know, that sounds like a great evening. We haven't played board games for ages, yet we always enjoy it when we do. You have given me prompt there, Dc - when I have the time!
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly preferable to watching the TV. They do play games by themselves as well but I think it is always better with company.
DeleteSounds like a lovely weekend despite the weather.
ReplyDeleteMy brother bought us Ticket to Ride for Xmas - we love it. It works well with all ages and all nationalities which is a big bonus in our house!
I must confess, we hadn't heard of either of them but both very good to play.
DeleteIm jealous that you can get people to play board games. My menfolk are attached to their tech, be it computers or tv. You've not been picking elderflowers near brandon have you...I just thought of you when i saw a lady picking them! Mo x

DeleteSorry, removed the above as I answered you with someone else's question. They do have their noses in electronic gizmo's but always love to play board games and others such as cards etc. No it wasn't me, I pick Elderflower near where I live.
