Bathroom Spring clean

The bathroom has been looking decidedly jaded for quite a while. Although the woodwork will soon be re-painted white, which helps brighten it up, the tiles were dull and had tiny patches of mould growing in places.

We got out the mini steamer, and DB did all around the top tiles, steaming, wiping and occasionally scrubbing them clean. I helped once we got lower down but had to break off to make some soup for lunch! The white micro clothes that came with the steamer looked like this before we started:
Then this after finishing, although the one on the right was also used on the floor:(
They were soaked in laundry bleach ready for use somewhere else. The whole place looks lovely and clean.

The ceiling needed painting - which DB did:

That just leaves the door and door frame, it will then be lovely for another few years.

    1. Indeed. Whilst it gets cleaned every week the tiles on the walls have to wait until we feel like it. Don't have a shower so that helps.

  3. Our tiles are ready for a good scrub, I have been having a look at a steam cleaner, mainly for the conservatory, I think it could be money well spent. We do have a shower and hubby cleans it regularly as it can get a bit manky, .i have told him a steam cleaner would make his chores so much easier :-)

    1. Even with steam, it still took a bit of rubbing,

  4. I'm all painted out! I have a small repair job to do in our bathroom but it will have to wait until I can muster up the enthusiasm to do it.

  5. Our bathroom is the next on the list ( it's getting a new look on a budget), and after that it's the hallway, which just needs freshening up with a coat of the same colour paint that's on there now. I steam cleaned the kitchen at the weekend - sink, window, tiles, worktops and cupboards - everything looks very sparkly now!

    1. Must do the kitchen some time soon. Wondering if the steam cleaner will work on thw wooden cupboard doors or whether it would damage them.

  6. I did a good bathroom clean a few weeks ago and things do look so much fresher since then. I always find that our north facing bathroom attracts the mould during the winter time as moisture just builds up. I`ve got a steam cleaner, too. Must get round to using that next time. Mental note to myself, lol.

    1. We try to open windows after a bath but it just makes the house cold. Steamer doesn't drip too much water down the tiles as you work so that helps.
