Advent tree finished...

This time 6 years ago, I started my blog.

DB spent most of a day, finishing off the tree, inbetween others tasks he had set himself to do. Here it is:
It can either hang or be free standing. We wanted to use Christmas colours so it would fit into any room. We are still looking for the right thing to top it off but that can wait.

  5. Congratulations. Am so glad that you decided to start blogging. I've used loads of your recipes, especially the gluten free ones and enjoy reading your of adventures and your thoughts on other matters.
Your tree looks amazing. Dare I venture to suggest that it looks very well balanced as it is and that any extra may distract from the overall shape and beautiful drawer decorations?
I feel that it may spark the germ of an idea for next year's Christmas gifts for family.....on the other hand a huge amount of work has gone into it so....... Sue

    1. Thanks Sue. Glad you find the recipes useful, although Kate at The Glutenfree Alchemist is the one to thank for some links.

    2. Good of you to acknowledge the link.
However, you demystify them and try them out for us so you must take a little credit too.
I remember one Christmas when you were expecting a GF visitor ( a DIL to be?) and spent ages testing recipes before you were satisfied that they were good enough. Sue

  6. Perfect! My DH has made a star from scrap plywood and I embossed it with silver pad and clear powder. It will eventually be stuck to the back. Love how you've put it on the wall-great idea. Catriona

  9. That looks really lovely! We have an simple advent calendar, made from red felt pockets and simple white felt Xmas motives, that we have used every year since my son was born. Each day, one of our tree ornaments is put the day's pocket for our boy to find and hang on the tree when he wakes up. Each year, I make or buy one beautiful new ornament to include. It's my favourite Xmas tradition. Meg:)
