Garden and Ruby

Although it looks on these pictures as though my front gravel garden is doing fine, it isn't really. Things are flowering early and fading quickly. I am having to cut back constantly just to try and lessen the plants distress at trying to keep all their stems alive:

Ruby has just turned 5 months old. She seems to be changing daily:
Doesn't she look worried on this picture below:

  1. I'm finding that with my flowers too. I save the watering for the vegetables at the moment. They are OK but my poor flowers.
    Ruby is beautiful.

    1. Thankyou. Flowers continually drooping, can’t seem to keep up with them.

    1. She is certainly coming along although she will insist on chasing the shadows of butterflies around the garden in this heat.

  3. Oh what a gorgeous girl.
My sweetpeas at the allotment have been and gone because of the heat. The flowers that bloomed lasted barely a day, and I couldn't keep up with deadheading them to produce more. Normally they would last for months; this year they have flowered for about 3 weeks. The sunflowers are spectacular though, and we have 2 beds of them!

    1. She is coming on but still has her moments! Shame about the sweet peas. Finally got some runner beans, brambles, gooseberries, chillies and tomatoes.

  4. What a beautiful dog. Sorry about your troubles with no rain and the garden under stress.

    God bless.
