The supply of boosted flu jab, designed especially for the public aged 65 and over, seems to be grinding to a halt. Many surgeries are having difficulty obtaining enough for their flu jab days. Those who chose to bypass surgeries and go to chemists or supermarkets are not doing much better.
The ‘normal’ version though, appears to be supplied more freely so off I went for mine this morning. Unlike the triple version I had last year, this is a quad version, for £11.50.
The 4 strains in this years jab are Michigan, Singapore, Colorado and Phuket.
Thanks for the reminder. I'm 63 so have to pay for mine.
ReplyDeleteYou’re welcome.
DeleteI get mine free, being diabetic. I have it in early November when my diabetes annual review is due.
ReplyDeleteThat’s good.
DeleteHad mine earlier this week at work. Muscle hurt for hours afterwards, seems to be the most common complaint this year.
ReplyDeleteMy non boosted one is almost not detectable. Last two years
DeleteI have had a sore arm.
I had mine a couple of weeks ago at the same time as my B12 injection. My mum's appointment is in a few weeks; I expect they will have run out of the boosted jab by then!
ReplyDeleteThe chemist I went to will receive just 67 boosted ones in total. Last year, she did 78 just in October!
DeleteI decided to pay for the flu jab and I've had it done. The first time ever. My husband had his done with the doctors. He fits the criteria.
ReplyDeleteI have only had flu once, I was very, very ill and took 10 weeks to recover. Never, ever want it again. I think if I had been elderly (I was 36 at the time) I think it might well have killed me.
DeleteI have been lucky enough to never have gotten the flu. Hopefully never will. I might just see about getting a jab this year.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I like to try and be protected but who knows.
