I eventually found this newspaper article from a year ago, says it all really inflation
Now you know why I am creating a Brexit food box! I have just found Elaine Colliars blog, Mortgage Free in Three is back up on Blogland, a fantastic blog on how to reduce debt and live frugally, see here.
Inflation has always been an issue buty much more n oticeable when your income is frozen, one way or another.
ReplyDeleteIt's even harder to swallow when politicians vote themselves huge rises while preaching about austerity!
xx
I think most don’t have a clue nor deserve a pay rise when most others in the country have had static pay for years.
DeleteInteresting article. A 30% rise doesn't surprise me, but it is shocking really. We're going to stock up more too. We've noticed a lot more gaps and low stock or even empty shelves in our local supermarkets lately.
ReplyDeleteIn Lidl the other day, the opposite was happening, too much stuff delivered and nowhere to put it! They said head office just keeps sending more Christmas stuff out and they are supposed to sell it, somehow.
DeleteI am going to do the same, pick up a couple of items everytime I shop, prices are getting crazy.
ReplyDeleteI am certainly noticing more each month.
DeleteYour blog has become one of my favorites and I agree about inflation and prices. I mentioned Brexit on one of the other blogs I follow and most of the folks told me that prices were not rising and there were no shortages.....I think they may have their heads in the sand.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Not just Brexit causing it but ignoring things won’t help if it all goes pear shaped.
DeleteFYI - MFin3 came up again for a few posts and then disappeared again back in May and nothing since - still seems to be at that same stage. I loved that blog and I realize that she is really busy but I would have liked some kind of sign off instead of just leaving everything in limbo.
ReplyDeleteAlthough no longer posting on it, it has returned whereas for a few weeks, it couldn’t be accessed at all, just an error message.
DeleteInflation seems to be causing no end to problems. We are doing a stock up shop in the closest big city and I dread seeing how much the prices have risen.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I think it is happening everywhere.
