I get so annoyed....

When I arrive at the shops to find I have forgotten the shopping list!

As it happened, we only forgot two items and they can wait. Luckily DB had glanced at the menu for this week, so at least we had some idea. Squash and sponge puddings were added to our shop as that is what our food bank is requesting. We also bought a Christmas tablecloth and napkins for another year. The shops were empty and we resisted all temptation to stock up on reduced Christmas food, none of which we wanted or needed.

After the departure yesterday of our visitors, Ruby slept almost the rest of the day and evening. Hoovering was done, as was a general tidy up. Today and tomorrow their bedding, plus the dog stuff will be washed. Finally, by the weekend, after dusting and putting everything away, we shall be straight.

We have decided in the new year to move items in a few rooms around to try and get them of more use to us. The flow isn’t quite right.

  1. It's so frustrating when that happens, I agree. Really annoying.

  2. I take a photo on my phone now so that the list is with me. I could add notes to my phone but I’m quicker with pen and paper!!

    1. Hardly use my phone so I would probably forget that as well. Thanks for the tip though.

    2. Catriona, I do exactly the same! One of the best ideas I've ever had, as I was always forgetting my list, but always have my phone with me (have to, in case of an emergency with mum).

    3. What a brilliant idea Catriona.
I can't be bothered to power up my phone just to add an item to my shopping list,( I can hear my youngest son saying, “ Oh mum!”), but photographing the finished list is a brainwave though I might still take the original with me too.
      Happy New Year, Sue

  3. We're having a shuffle round as well. We've got a small kitchen then a living room and a front room. We squash a table and 2 sofas into the living room plus a TV. The front room has a 3 piece suite plus TV - but we never sit in there. So the living room will be for the table only and we can then use the front room for TV etc.

    1. That should be better by the sound of it.

  4. I got half way to the shops the other day and discovered I forgot the list - turned round and went and got it, far better than shopping twice because knowing me I would have missed most things.
