What a contrast

Yesterday was nowhere near as bad as we thought it would be. Today has dawned sunny and mild but with a stiff breeze.

I have stripped the bedding from Ruby’s cushion and crate and they are blowing on the line. She is dozing on the dining room mat in the sun.

Pumpkin, sunflower and linseeds have been chavelled for future breakfasts and a cherry and marzipan cake is cooking in the bread maker.

All is well.

  1. I think you previously told me the name of the manufacturer of your bread machine but would you please share that information again? The cake sounds wonderful.

    1. Panasonic SD-2500 WXC. The cakes are an slightly odd shape and slightly too brown around the edge but other than that, it cooks them well. Photos tomorrow.

  2. I looked up the meaning of chavelled, but chewing or jowl did not make sense in your context. Could you please enlighten an American English speaker? I enjoy reading your blog and your cake sounds delicious.

    1. Thanks. Chavelled means to almost purée, pulverise or blend leaving small lumps.

  3. I often make cakes in the bread maker, they freeze well too. The storm wasn't nearly as bad as anticipated here either.

  4. We had pouring rain this morning but it brightened and we had a sunny afternoon. Windy all day though!

  6. I really must try and make a cake in my bread maker. I will need to think on the best kind to make. Perhaps something to use up all those frozen blueberries I have discovered. Looking forward to seeing a picture of your cake.

    God bless.

    1. Took me a while to learn to line the bread pan. The recipes I am currently cooking come from it’s cook book. They use 1lb flour and take 55 minutes to cook.
