So blooming difficult...

You wouldn’t think finding curtains would be so difficult would you. Most shops that we would have used in the past, no longer stock them. Those that do, are primarily selling grey and a few other colours that are of no use to us. We trawled around Norwich yesterday, nothing to be found.

Luckily, I found a place online that offers free samples. They were waiting for us when we got home. One was no good, the other had potential. We held them up to the wall and pondered for quite a while. Whilst we didn’t want plain material, these are similar to crushed velvet so although plain, shimmer in different shades if you see what I mean.

The material on its own, is quite thick, and looks as though it will cut out a lot of sunlight when needed. They come lined so an added bonus.

Will let you know what they look like when they are delivered and we are happy with them.

  1. Fingers crossed that you like them. Curtains can be tricky, I agree.

  2. I have just hung new curtains in my living room. I sent for a sample from a company in Norfolk and decided to order as they were willing to alter the length for a small fee. Am pleased with them, however a bit disappointed in the quality of the lining, would have preferred them to be a bit heavier. Hope you are pleased with your's when they arrive.

    1. If it’s the same Norfolk company I have ordered from, think they buy the ready made curtains in, rather than make them themselves, we shall see. They will be returned if not good enough quality.

  3. There is a fantastic place called Chelford Fabrics but it's near Harpenden, Herts, so I guess much too far away. I thought I'd mention it, just in case.

  4. Fingers crossed all goes well. We struggled to get curtains for our bedroom when we first moved here. The main issue was the lining, not making it thick enough to block out the light.
