As a female....

I need to dry myself after urinating, you men are so lucky!

I use 3 sheets each time, on average 5 or 6 times a day/night. That means, I will get through one roll of our brand of toilet paper every 9.5 days, doing just that one action. Who knew or even thought about that before?

With the ridiculous situation regarding this particular commodity, I have now decided to use a clean flannel for this particular job, rinsed after every use, then washed each day. Hopefully, our supply will then last a little longer.

Every little helps as a well known supermarket says!

  1. LOL, I have been doing the same counting the sheets I use and telling my husband how lucky he is.

    God bless.

  2. We've been using much less than usual too. At 6am this morning I heard scratching on the landing - the cat had pounced on a full roll of toilet paper from the bathroom and was kicking it and ripping it to shreds!! Luckily she'd only damaged the first few layers. Who'd have thought toilet paper would become so precious!!

    1. The loo paper will have to be kept in a box or something if your cat likes it:)

  3. In the 1970s we were so proud to have a bidet installed. That would save a lot of bother now!

  5. I've just cut up some old towels to make 'dabbers'. A small bucket with a drop of detergent in and a hot whites wash. Loo roll? - Problem sorted

  6. Tony and I discussed doing exactly the same thing. It might change the way we all use loo roll.

    1. Just dabbing at the moment. Not planning on dealing with poo unless things get really dire.

  7. Luckily I live in a place toilet paper isn't vanishing. I had a very interesting discussion with my children ( aged 12 to 20) about toilet and toilet paper. The are willing to use outhouse, but not without toilet paper. Newspaper or flannel just will not do!

  8. I've never understood 'scrunching' instead of folding. I demonstrated this and you need a lot more than 3 sheets for a scrunch to be effective!!

    1. Yep, three sheets folded in half gives 6 layers so plenty.
