Holiday blues...

We should have been on holiday this week with family. We should have been enjoying some prolonged interaction with DGD, but it’s not to be. She is growing well, gone from a skinny premature to a filled out and blooming baby. She now weighs 8lb 10oz, is starting to smile and a few weeks ago, popped out a tooth!

It was hard work adding my three new plants into the gravel garden, it was bone dry despite a good watering. No rain forecast for quite a while. I had shoulder ache for the rest of the day.

Don’t know about you, but I have put on a little weight recently. I am not able to go for long walks every day and have been prone to eating extra biscuits so will have to get on top of it as I feel uncomfortable.

  1. Yes, we've missed our post Easter holiday in Norfolk too
Yes, we've missed seeing our Newborn grandson
    Yes, we've put on weight
But... We hope Norfolk will still be there when lockdown ends, and our grandson will still be growing happily in Manchester. Two good things to look forward to
Sadly we suspect the extra weight will still be there too...

    1. Probably will unless we have a warm summer and can eat less caloric meals.

  2. I thought I had put on lots of weight, I felt proper podged, but when I weighed myself it was only 4lbs, so I'm not fretting. I think all this extra sitting makes me slouchy and that makes me feel more podgy. I need to do a few workouts, but first I need to find the enthusiasm ... I think I put it in the cupboard ;-)

  3. I feel for you.
We've only seen our new granddaughter shortly after she was born at 6lb 8oz in mid-Feb - she's now a lot bigger (they don't live near us).
I've also gained lockdown weight!! Just can't stop eating.
I planted a few annuals yesterday and our soil was also bone dry. We could do with a good downpour overnight.
We should have been in a caravan on holiday in a few weeks in Cornwall but that's gone now too!
On the plus side we have all avoided coronavirus so far.

    1. So have we but I almost wish I had had a mild version of it so I could not worry about going out.

  4. We missed our holiday too so I know how it feels. Like you I have gained a few pounds too, its all this baking I keep doing and lack of exercise. Glad the baby is doing so well.

  6. We’ve had holiday blues in the this house too. Well, my son and hubby have. They’ve missed out on a golfing holiday in Spain and my son has also missed out on a stag do holiday abroad. My hubby and I are meant to be going on holiday to Hastings in June but I think that is being cancelled. My son’s holiday with his girlfriend ( to Rome!) hasn’t yet been cancelled, but I’m not sure I want him to go anyway!
To be honest, I just want to stay where I am for a while to come yet :)
