Phew...

It is 01:17 and again, I can’t sleep. I am so hot and uncomfortable. The bedroom thermometer says 23C, even typing this, with the window wide open, isn’t making a difference.

Ah well, hopefully I will get a few hours somewhere along the line.

  1. It was a warm night, wasn't it. Do you have a fan you could have on to at least kep the air moving?
I hope you managed to get to sleep.

    1. It was in the attic and I can’t stand the noise so tend not to use them in the bedroom. Got to sleep around 2pm I reckon. Thanks Joy.

  2. I have gone back to top sheet and a blanket ,last night I tossed the blanket aside and was much more comfortable. I also suffer from bad sleep and do not like prescription tablets, at the moment I am trying Bach remedies rescue nights liquid gels and am quite pleased but sadly when I do sleep I have terrible nightmares, always have done and being a lady of a certain age with a bladder that seems even older,I get up for several wees in the night. Hey ho,such is life, Chrissie.

  3. It was hot! We had the window open (don't usually) and although it was still hot, it was the first time this year I think that I didn't wake up coughing throughout the night. The dawn chorus woke me.

    1. Shut the window when I was ready to try again. Both neighbours have wind chimes and they drive me mad if I hear them during the night.

  4. I don't have any problems sleeping, but I am having even more wacky dreams than usual just recently. Last nights for instance was about us buying a vintage caravan and sleeping in it for a night with a mysterious woman in the third bedroom ... did I mention it was a two berth from the outside but three bedroomed inside!! All the rooms were full of 1940's soldiers in various uniforms and some with injuries and bandages.

My biggest problem is now that it's light so early the bloody cockerels wake me up at silly o'clock responding to our neighbours cockerels in the distance. It's a good job Alan's air rifle is no longer stored under the bed!!

  5. The temperatures here are still dropping at night making it easier to sleep. Would a hot water bottle help with cold water and ice cubes to cool the bed not directly on you?

  6. Our bedroom window is open, but it doesn’t seem to make much difference, it’s so stuffy! I spend most of the time on top of the duvet.
