Am I no longer frugal enough for some followers? Some are leaving:(
Well, life moves on, finances get better due to frugal living, and as that happens, we are able to spend a little more.
I have a while before my pension kicks in so we still live on DB’s. I can’t be bothered, at the moment, to create a new blog with a new title. Maybe another year.
We are trying desperately to arrange a visit to see family before restrictions on household mixing changes, or another lockdown happens. I think we won’t make it.
I do wish people would stop protesting in large groups, they really are not helping. Still they rant on about it being to do with 5G, worse still it is a hoax. No social distancing, no masks.
I wouldn’t wish Covid on anyone but....
IF I won the lottery, I would still be frugal. It's in my DNA.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I find it quite difficult to spend money.
DeleteDon't know about the leavers, perhaps their leaving is to do with them, not you. Everyone it seems has different ideas about frugality today. Mine is inherited and borne of experience. I hope you do get the visit you want. Have a good evening.
ReplyDeleteUs too e. Same here with frugal living, borne of childhood and necessary. Once ingrained, stays with you.
DeleteI too wish people would not gather in huge groups without social distancing and masks, shouting and running. That is the way to spread this nasty virus. I grew up being careful with money, it is just in my nature. I enjoy your blog, don't worry about why people leave it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Not worried as such, just seems odd.
DeleteEverybody has different levels of being frugal and I find I can learn something new from everyone. I don't do the follower thing but you are on my sidebar and I always come and read.
ReplyDeleteI understand perfectly about the feelings that anti maskers, and those who say this is a hoax. Silly buggers.
And thank you for doing so. Yes indeed to the last bit. What happened to firing water cannons at them like they did in the 70’s and 80’s?
DeleteWell as long as your not using someone else's money, they have no say. Your garden looks beautiful, a lot of hard work. Hope you get to see your granddaughter before long.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Just two more days to plant before we possibly get rain. We are getting slower each day:(
DeleteFor me, frugal is making the best of what you have - and that looks different in different situations. You carry on doing what's right for you; I really enjoy reading it!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I wish people would stop making such a nasty, noisy fuss. It's difficult for everyone but insisting it is a hoax does not help in the slightest. Haw can they actually believe that?
xx
Goodness knows why they believe it. There was a hoax campaigner in the US who caught it and died. He posted just beforehand to others to wake up.
DeleteI find spending money on new things difficult - and even stuff at car boot sale is sometimes too expensive!
ReplyDeleteReally hope you get to visit family again. Despite the East Anglian saying dont shut down Suffolk and the Eastern Daily Press saying Don't shut down Norfolk - I have a feeling we will be again soon. Apparently in Suffolk you have to meet 27,000 people in close contact to run the risk of getting Covid!
In Norfolk we are currently at between 4 and 9 per 100,000, depending on what you read, so still low. Won’t stop us being careful though.
DeleteI have had the same increases/decreases with the blog I think it is if you follow back or not. I do hope you manage to get your visit with family. We were hoping to visit again at half term but the chances are getting slimmer and slimmer. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWe hope so too but fear we won’t. A nationwide two week lockdown seems on the cards over half term and the week after. I suppose it depends on when half term is in each country. Fingers crossed for you as well.
DeleteEverything crossed here that you manage a visit. Our figures have increased again, despite being in local lockdown for about 7 weeks. Umpteen schools/ parts of schools shut. We had over 200 new cases in a week last time I looked!
ReplyDeleteUs too. Perhaps schools and universities going back was always going to make things worse but idiots don’t help.
DeleteWe each do frugal our own way, and the majority of us, at our age anyway, are now enjoying the fruits of many, many frugal years ... just in a still frugal-ish fashion. Maybe some of the leavers just need more day to day instructions which by and large we no longer give or maybe some are just cleaning up their reading lists. Tastes change, it's what makes us all different.
ReplyDeleteYep the rules are just about to change yet again, and thank goodness I had a lovely visit with Mum last week as once again I can not visit her ... unless of course we meet up in a pub and get out by 10pm!! Luckily my brother is local to her and in her 'bubble' and she has brilliant neighbours, so I don't have to worry too much.
I really do not understand the people saying it's all a hoax, have they seen the worn out NHS staff and watched the actual filmed news reports ... what do they think it is a big Disney production!!
Heavens knows, they drive me nuts. The sensible ones obey, others ignore. I have already missed 6 months with my granddaughter, probably to Covidiots.
