I had a feeling

We would go into another lockdown soon. So last Friday we braved the shops with our list of sewing and crafting materials, clothes and a couple of other things. We got 3/4’s of the list. We returned home with cheese scones for lunch. We were shattered both mentally and physically.

The next day, Boris made his announcement. I had a hairdressing appointment on the Thursday, so would miss that.

However, early this morning my hairdresser rang up to say she would come and cut it this morning if I was willing. Yes I was! It is now considerably shorter than normal just in case.

Today, we also had a lovely video chat with DS and family. DGD rolled forwards and backwards several times. She can transition from sitting to a belly flop at will although occasionally she hits her face:( Once on her belly she is getting adept at pushing herself backwards. She was also babbling at us so coming along nicely.

  1. Face time/video calls are so handy for catching up with family in times like this. I dare say the shops will be manic up until Thursday.

  3. I had my hair cut on Friday - the first cut since last January. I felt very safe with all the covid safe measures in the salon. I really feel sorry for these businesses who are forced to close so soon after getting back up & running again. I also had a feeling we would be going into lockdown again. My daughter's 6 months pregnant and still teaching in a secondary school. I do worry about it.

    1. Glad you got your hair cut in time. Hopefully your daughter might be on maternity leave soon? Very worrying isn’t it?

    2. Think she finishes quite late by around 17th Jan. There have been cases at her school, teacher plus pupils, but not in her "bubble". We're Tier 3 at the moment.

  4. It is truly a hard time to be a grandma. I am grateful for the technology that allows us to spend time with other when we can't really spend time with each other.

  5. I think many places here will be shutting down once again and the only stores open will be groceries and pharmacies.

So very sorry that you have only got to see your granddaughter twice. That really is not fair at all.

    God bless.

  6. So sad that you have seen her in person only twice, but saying that I have seen my grand-daughter and great grandson only once each too, it's hard this year for sure.

The queues outside all our local shops on the High Street and the supermarkets were building straight away at 9am this morning, it's going to be a busy retail start to the week. I do hope panic buying doesn't set in again.
