Not too busy

We did our food shopping today plus a few other things. Lidl and Morrisons were not too busy. Town was less busy than last Friday and the Pet Shop even less busy - all of which were a bonus.

We bought ourselves a cheese scone each for lunch, from our favourite cafe cum takeaway. I do hope he manages to hold on.

US Election fever has gripped again so I am trying to avoid the news on tv for as long as possible. I would like to think that people would have had enough of the self centered, aren't I great Trump, but obviously not. Biden seems okay if a bit old but he doesn't want to trade with us because we had the audacity to leave the EU.

All in all then, not much to chose between them, as far as I can see. Biden seems to be the more presidential of the two, which would be more useful to the rest of the world but who the heck knows. Should Trump lose, I wonder how much chaos would ensue and how much damage he could chose to do in his last few weeks.

Watch, wait and hold onto your hats!

  1. Quiet in Sainsbury's this morning, busy in town on Monday. Our cafe did 50% off last night ( they're a wine bar that does tapas too) to clear their stock and sold out so couldn't repeat the offer today. I will miss it over the next 4 weeks as it was the one thing we were still allowed to do, as long as we didn't meet anyone.
Biden won't trade because the Tories are undermining the GFA with their actions. The USA are counter signatories to it, and Joe Biden seems to be taking that seriously. Trump will hike the cost of drugs to the NHS. He admitted on his state visit that everything was up for grabs in a deal, including the NHS.

  2. I find it shocking that a huge country with a population of 331 million can only put forward two old men as possible President. Trump is 74 years old, while Biden will be 78 years old in 2 weeks time. I am 75 years old now and there's no way I could guarantee doing a responsible job as President for the next 4 years!!

  3. The number of gaffs Biden has made in the last few weeks beggars belief. Frying pan and fire spring to mind!

  6. One of tomorrows newspapers has the headline " make America wait again" then goes on to say something about which one of the two old farts.

I think Biden was a good vice president with Obama. They worked well together He didnt stand in the last election due to the death of his son,Beau who many tipped for the top. He just seems past his best now.

    1. I think Trump won’t relinquish if he loses, and will fight like mad.

  7. I just want Trump out, he is an obnoxious man in every sense. Biden is only a couple of years older than Trump and even he acknowledges that he will only be in office for one term, but that one term will be enough to change things hopefully for the better for so many people.

I hate politics, it's no wonder we are all getting depressed!!

  8. Well I live in the US and can't stand either. I believe that Biden won't last a year and his vice-president Kamala Harris with be President. To me that is no better. People didn't like her as a presidential candidate and the democrats will try and run this country. It is amazing how people picked those two as our choices.

    1. Can’t say I blame you. I guess the choices serve a political agenda somehow.
