A double rise

Currently, Norfolk is in tier 2 restrictions for Covid-19. I was pretty sure we would go up to 3, but have instead shot up to tier 4. That is fine by me but may come as a shock to others. I think my son is currently in tier 2 where he lives, same as his MinL, but are both now moving into tier 3. I am sure he will let me know in due course.

On top of that information to digest, it seems we have another, potentially more transmissible version of the virus, this time from South Africa. It seems to target younger people more readily.

In a perverse way, you have to ‘admire’ its tenacity. It is a living thing and is doing its best to survive. We just have to hope it doesn’t evolve into something more deadly and that in the end, we win, rather than it.

  1. We're in tier 3 - have been for a while. I've returned to the NHS for a few months to work. When the vaccinations began on 8th Dec, would you believe that vaccine was being thrown away as not enough uptake!! It comes in vials of 5 vaccines and once thawed, has to be discarded if all 5 aren't used. You can't win can you!

    1. They should be giving those leftover ones to medical staff so they don’t have to keep isolating.

    2. That's what has happened at J's hospital and KL's GP practice. Staff have been offered leftover vaccine, and if too many wanted it names were drawn.

  3. We are also entering stricter rules come Christmas day. I just wish all people would follow those rules.

    God bless.

    1. Indeed yet they still don’t think it is partly their fault let alone are daft enough to think its a hoax! Have a good Christmas.

  4. As of midnight Christmas my entire province is in lockdown - the north of the province for a minimum of 14 days and the south for a minimum of 28 days. In my city we have already been in lockdown for 28 days so no real change except for the fact that there won't be any going from region to region as we are now all in the same boat.
    We'll just have to cope.
Have a happy Christmas and stay safe.

    1. Thank you and you. I dread to think how many people will be on the move, all over the place here, after tomorrow. Tier 4 not quite a full lockdown as some places can still operate, but not far off.
