Final bit of titivation...

As I said, I just can't get into the mood this year. We have lightly decorated the Welsh dresser:

The books have lights in but the batteries need changing! The mantelpiece was also decorated:

A few other bits and bobs and that is it. Still haven't made any mince pies or sausage rolls or even thought about meals other than the day itself. Weird isn't it?

  1. You can't push the Christmassy mood if it just isn't there can you. We do have a Christmas tree outside in it's pot here in Wales but it's that soggy I can't even think about bringing it in ... there's also most likely a lot of little creatures calling it home since it was put outside after Christmas last year. So like you we have just draped tinsel around indoors and a lot of twinkly lights inside and out.

I love your new header, I meant to mention that week and kept forgetting.

  2. Love those wooden books, such a great design. There seems to be a lot of people who don't have the Christmas feeling this year which is no surprise after such a strange year.

    1. It looks like you have managed to get into the festive spirit. I am sure if we see DGD and her parents that will help.

  3. I feel like you, everything I'm doing is functional rather than it being enjoyable. The tree has gone up and there are lights outside but thats only because I bought some in the sale last year. I certainly wouldn't have mad e atrip to the shops this year.

    1. I made myself buy puff pastry, just got to make myself make sausage rolls. Horrible being so out of sorts.

  4. It is hard to get into the festive mood this year in spite of Classic FM, our go to background music, churning out Christmas music. Won't be seeing our sons last seen last Christmas (eldest) and the May before (youngest). My husband would rather not bother, no family traditions and so stressful finding presents for one person (me) but I carry on in a less is more way. That said he does like the string of lights in the window and the driftwood tree I made strung with decorations from both sons and a few lights and is not adverse to taste testing the biscuits made for the Christmas parcels.

  5. It is hard to get into the Christmas spirit this year, but I think as the day gets closer I just may get into a more festive frame of mind.

    Your decorating looks lovely.

    God bless.
