Vaccination!

DB falls into the second category of recipients to receive the vaccination. He was phoned up of Monday by our surgery and invited today. Our surgery is giving them but at another practice. He has had the Pfizer version and we wait to see if any common side effects occur.

He was quite surprised to be invited so early but we have both decided to have it, so off he went. He said it was very well organised but very cold. Although indoors all the windows were open but he had been warned to wear a winter coat.

    1. Me too! It’s just a shame that so many places are waiting to offer it but can’t get hold of it.

  3. I had the Pfizer too last weekend (am NHS) - no major side effects and thankful to have had it.

    1. I do hope they give the 2nd dose before 12 weeks which I think is too long.

  4. DB and I booked to have ours 30th January as we are in our 70's and most of the older folk in our town have had theirs.

  5. That's good news!
Mother had no side effects from the Pfizer, KL had headaches with the Oxford. J no further forward with getting the Oxford as his department has a new freezer for the Pfizer so he's been told it's likely that's all they'll be getting. It's being given in a block away from the main hospital building and even with his EpiPens it's not worth the risk despite some updated guidelines:( No news about what the other hospital will be getting so the wait continues.

    1. I hope he can find a source for the Oxford one. Surely his doctor or the hospital should be doing that?

  6. At least your government has it's act together. I'm over 60, work as a nurse on a surgical unit and am still waiting to be vaccinated. My appointment was cancelled to be able to give the dose to an over 60!

Guess I'm expendable as I'm still working.

    1. There are still loads of medical staff not received theirs yet, it’s very hit and miss at the moment.
