Haircut

I couldn't stand it anymore. It is now 3 months since my last hair cut. DB plucked up courage and slowly got on with it. I had to wet it several times!

I got him to take off 1" all over, as best he could. We segment the hair into roughly 1" squares, twist it and trim. It seems to work. Still a bit long but a big improvement which these before and after picutres don't do justice:

Bit of a chunk left at the bottom which I can't normally see. In in 6 weeks (hopefully) my hairdresser will be here to give me a good cut.

Unfortunately for me, I tweeked my back standing up from washing my hair over the bath - the only option we have. I shall probably be out of action for a little while:(

    1. Thank you. I was going to let him use clippers on the bottom but aren’t quite brave enough.

  2. That haircut looks beautiful! Maybe I should go back to cutting my own hair, like I did in college. Then I wouldn't have to explain what I want to a hairdresser I only see once every three or four months. Thanks!

    1. I’m lucky with my hairdresser who normally visits every 6 weeks for a cheapest price. 99% of the time she gets it right.

  4. It is five months since I had my hair cut and I am getting desperate. We had booked an appointment with our friend, who is a mobile hairdresser, for early January so that we would be respectable for a funeral. Then the lockdown started and we couldn't have a haircut. I attacked my husband's hair with our scissors but I can't wait until I can meet up with my friend's scissors.

  5. Sorry to read about your back. Great job I must admit mine is just a mess but we are not brave enough to do anything about it.

  7. I am still embracing the long lockdown hair. But it falls out a lot. On the other hand the birds are getting a lot of hair for spring nest building which I have emptied from the vacuum cleaner on to the flower beds!

    1. Yes, thinning hair is a bit of a bane isn’t it?

  8. My husband is the family barber and stylist. My teen boys get their haircuts every three weeks and I take a seat on the stool every couple months to have him trim my hair. A great money saver and so convenient.

    1. I’m the main hair cutter but he has started to do emergency cuts during lockdown.

    2. Doing emergency haircuts? Hopefully he reviewed some tutorials on YouTube before he picked up the shears. My husband invested in good quality tools and supplies for doing haircuts, and having the right tools and experience make a big difference. He regularly cuts my mom’s hair and also trims my best friend’s long hair, and last summer, I had a couple other friends of mine visit and ask hubby for haircuts. I was glad he could do it for them so they didn’t screw up their hair. My friend with the overgrown pixie was tempted to have her husband attempt to cut her hair, but she was afraid he would screw up and she would end up shaving her head. Short hair is much less forgiving as there is less room for error.
