Foxley Wood

We drove over to Foxley Wood for our weekly walk with E. I think we caught the bluebells just in time. Another week and they will be past their best:

It was quite boggy and muddy in places due to the recent thunderstorms. We had to hang onto the posts of electric fences for balance, a bit precarious!

We got back to the car park and sat to eat our lunch. Very pleasant all round. Come next week, we shall be able to share a car which will reduce petrol expences. We have decided we shall continue to wear masks whilst sharing cars, just to be on the safe side.

  1. It's been a really good year for Bluebells hasn't it, we also seem to have the pinker version along our riverbank, they look so pretty.

  2. We loved Foxley Wood when we visited 4 years ago. It's definitely the best bluebell wood I've ever seen!

    1. For a change, the scent was heavenly. Sometimes the rain washes it away.

  3. Yesterday we walked at w Wherestead wood and the bluebells and birds were heavenly, the wild garlic was perfuming some of the wood and it made a perfect end to a lovely morning. Val. x

    1. DB has an app on his phone which identifies bird song so we heard a few new ones.

    1. Us too. Had to also balance on logs over deep muddy patches whilst holding on.
