I nipped outside last night, ahead of the predicted thunderstorms (didn't happen), to photograph my new back border. There are 9 of these huge self sown foxgloves in white, cream, pale yellow, magenta, pink and white and pink:
These two are about 7' tall!Gentle rain fell overnight plus for a few hours this morning. Worse is still predicted so I am hoping they and the rest of the garden, doesn't get flattened.
I think there was a bit of thunder here last night as something woke me that sounded like someone pulling a bin along the road but as that was a bit unlikely I decided it was thunder and went back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteStill none here but today is light rain and chilly.
DeleteMy border is bursting into life. I never remember what's in it from one year to the next and then go on to plant even more plants. At the moment it's looking very colourful (poppies, various perpetual geraniums, foxgloves, geum, cosmos, nasturtiums, osteospermium, verbena, alliums, etc) but also very overcrowded!
ReplyDeleteHopefully will be keeping the weeds down though.
DeleteWow, those foxgloves sure are tall. I didn't realize they grew that tall.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
In our local woods, they reach around 3’. This is the tallest they have grown.
DeleteThe foxgloves are beautiful and such pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteWild ones seem to do better here than the cultivated ones.
DeleteThe border looks lovely. Love foxgloves and allow them to self seed all around our garden.
