Today is my birthday

I received some lovely presents, some known about, many unknown. Items for journaling, some more gorgeous Japanese snips, gardening gloves, bee wax wraps, soaps and a few sweets.

I am entitled to my state pension, but so far, not a peep regarding when they will start to pay it. They are supposed to be in touch within 14 days of my birthday, does that include 14 days afterwards? I know it could be up to a month before my first payment. Anyone any ideas!

  1. They work in arrears which could be the reason. They'll pay a lump sum backdated so you wont lose out. Hope you hear soon.

  3. Happy Birthday - It is supposed to be paid 4 weeks in arrears, you should get it by 27th August]. Check on the govuk website, it should tell you how much pension you can expect. If you do not hear anything by 26th August, contact them [its a Bank Hol weekend, so don't leave it to the Friday!] It WILL arrive eventually.

  5. Happy birthday! Sorry, no idea about the pension (I'm not there yet for another few years!). Husband did get notified about his, in advance I think, but it's a few years back now so I can't really remember.

  11. Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday.

I hope the pension comes through without any hassle, they are usually pretty good with the actual finances, just not so good at getting in touch ... unless you owe them money!
