Marmalade

A couple of days ago, I made my first batch of marmalade for this winter. I try to make two batches as some is given for Christmas presents, the rest we will use throughout the rest of this year and most of next:

The jar on the left is orange and ginger, the rest are plain orange.

  1. Looks delicious, I haven't made mine yet. Like you I like to include either marmalade or jam in my hampers.

    1. We enjoy it. I use ginger balls in syrup plus some of the syrup.

  3. It really is marmalade time again now that the season has changed isn't it. I'm finding myself suddenly craving porridge again too.

    1. I love porridge but it doesn’t like me nowadays. I feel really sick afterwards:(

  4. What type of oranges did you use? I always associated January with marmalade making, not September

    1. Fresh Seville’s in February but these were canned, just as good and way less hassle.

  5. Such a lovely colour. Never have I made or eaten marmalade, but seeing your jars I am very tempted to make some.

    God bless.

    1. Orange jam would be sweet like normal jam but marmalade is made with sour oranges giving it a lovely zing.
