Flu jabs - tick!

DB and I had our flu jabs today. Didn’t feel a thing and so far, neither of us has a sore arm. Unusual especially for me!

DB is due to get his Covid booster on Friday. I was 3 weeks behind him so need to wait a little longer. People are just letting their guard down too much we think. Mask wearing is reducing in lots of places.

Despite hardly going out, DDiL has Covid. She began to feel unwell last week, positive PCR today. DS so far is okay and although DGD has been ill, she has been tested as well. Negative so far but she seems fine now.

None of us know where we will pick up or catch Coronavirus from, let alone Nora-virus or flu. We shall continue to keep ourselves as safe as possible.

  1. Sorry to hear that DDiL has covid. I hope DS stays well.
I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago with no ill effects either, which was unusual.

  2. Yes, there are far too many people not wearing masks now, despite covid cases rising (and that's probably why it's rising). Hope your DDiL gets better soon and the rest of them/you stay well.

    1. Thanks. Give people the choice and most will chose what’s best for them rather than everyone else.

  3. Hope your DIL feels better soon. I agree with you, people are letting their guards down a little too much. I had a shock last week when I heard that my previous NHS manager (aged 58) died of covid on 6th October. She'd worked through the lockdown in the hospital where she was cared for and died. She was also fully jabbed. I still can't take it in and it just proves that it's by no means disappearing.

    1. What a shame and in a way, a sober reminder that just because we are vaccinated, doesn’t stop us being very ill or in some cases, die.

  4. Sorry to hear about DDiL having Covid. Are tests done there to find who she contacted it from?

    1. Used to be but another thing that seems to be slipping. She has hardly gone anywhere or met anyone.

  6. Got my flu shot last week and am waiting (not with much patience) for my turn for a booster. I won't be able to get mine until December though.

    God bless.

  8. I'm going for my covid booster and flu jag combined today it seems to be the way it's being given here. We are also still under mandatory masking in shops and other indoor situations and I know that makes me feel much safer.

    1. Yes, we mask up when going inside and still use sanitizer but an awful lot don’t now. Some people can have both done at the same time if they go to a vaccination centre.

  9. There are far too many people going into shops without masks these days, I really do think it should be mandatory once again and as many people as possible should try to go back to working from home. I'm glad you both felt okay after your flu shots, it can make you feel yucky sometimes.

    1. Thanks. She feels wiped out. DGD has tested positive as well but so far so good. At the moment DS still clear.
