We got our heating oil when we did. It cost us 48p per litre on 30th September. Today, it is between 63p and 73p per litre, depending on how quickly you want it delivered.
Petrol has gone up 7p per litre in just a few weeks. Better keep you car topped up as much as you can...
Diesel is even worse - up 13p a litre in less than a month.
ReplyDeleteI topped up heating oil in June and still 7/10ths full, can't top up until it's under half full - goodness knows what the price will be when I need it
Set to get higher I think with the global energy crisis
DeleteWow, that's quite a price hike. We've noticed the petrol price rises when we fill up. I'm just glad that our car use should lessen considerably in the new year!
ReplyDeleteWe're on a fixed tariff, dual fuel, until 31st Dec. Dreading to hear what the increase will be! My son and wife's energy supplier went bust, so they were transferred to Shell Energy. Their cost has doubled!!
ReplyDeleteWe changed just before it happened but have ended up back on a Economy 7 which we wanted to change from. However we are fixed for 2 years and don’t want to risk changing again.
DeleteI'be just secured a fixed rate dual fuel tariff with British gas and am thanking my lucky stars. I never gave it much though before.
ReplyDeleteGot in just in time by the sound of things. I know we will have to face the increases eventually, but it is nice to have this buffer time.
DeleteThe price of gas is crazy. So glad that over the years I decided not to drive very often, and our new vehicle gets awesome gas mileage. We use natural gas for our heat and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the price does not rise too much this winter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I think natural gas probably will go up. We buy our petrol/diesel (gas) by the litre and at £1.77 per litre, on average, that equates to just over $8 a gallon:(
DeleteThe price of petrol went up from 1.49€ to 1.79€ per litre within 6 weeks! For natural gas, we have a fixed price till December 31st. I dread the prices from Jan 1st!
ReplyDeleteHilde in Germany
Ouch, that equates to £1.51 here (for now). I suspect it will rise even more and yes, heavens knows what the price for gas and electricity will be in the new year. No doubt, someone somewhere will be raking in the profit!
