A little bit of a bargain

Anyone who knows me, knows I keep and wear clothes for years. Most of my summer tops are getting beyond use so we went looking for replacements. Blouses don’t seem to be much in fashion and I didn’t want just tee shirts. No joy in most shops visited but eventually we looked at the sales rack in one.

Two pull on loose tops originally £22 each were on the rack for £18 and £16. Not too much less but by buying two (or more), you got another 20% off.

So instead of £44 full price they cost me £27.20, not too bad for very nice tops, suitable for going out in or just wearing at home. I can envisage many years wear from them. Yes, before anyone mentions it, I do know there are charity shops to look in but I wanted something new for a change.

Having said the other day that Morrison’s petrol was £1.72, it has now risen to £1.76.

  1. My Sainsbury's petrol on 7th was £1.699 . This time last year it was £1.249. For my car it means 4p more to drive a mile.

  2. I've bought myself some new tops and t-shirts this year for a change. Knowing how well we both make things last my new tops will be pyjamas in around five years and then dusters in ten. Maybe by then we'll all be going naked so we can afford fuel for our cars!!

  3. Was talking too some elderly ladies at the URC coffee morning and they were telling me about all the shops that the village once had - thought how good it would be to just have everything within walking distance - instead of the £1.89 a litre diesel - that was last week so it's probably over £2 this week, that's needed to do any shopping now.

    1. Thank goodness we still have a good village shop and a butcher within a short drive. We are certainly trying to plan our journeys even more.

  4. Sometimes you just need something new. Fuel really is going up almost every day, and most countries say it will continue to do so.

    God bless.

  5. Petrol is absolutely shocking and my heart goes out to people who have to use their car for work.

I live in T shirts and jeans mostly but your nice tops sound great value. xx

  6. More than I would normally pay so the discount was a bonus.
