Ordered our heating oil

DB ordered 500 litres of heating oil. 98.5p per litre plus tax made it about £520. Unfortunately, the driver arrived this morning and estimated the tank level was too high to receive it, so didn’t put it in. Now, whether that is their policy or because we paid up front, I don’t know. Now to claim the money back.

Petrol price (rounded up) at Asda was £1.90 and another supermarket was £1.93! We bought our weekly food earlier this week, another 10p or 20p up on quite a lot of items. Some things less, some more than last week.

Ruby had a trim and shampoo yesterday:

She had diarrhoea and vomiting a couple of days ago and smelt a bit high! She’s her usual self today and smells lovely.

  1. That's annoying re.the oil. Let's hope you can still get it at the same price later on. I agree about the prices rising in the supermarkets. I've been buying a few '"Too good to go" boxes every week in Morrisons - 99p - so far I've had about 15 conference pears in a box, a box of apples, a box of mangoes - this week they only had boxes of potatoes though.

  2. My tank is on 60% full and I'll order the minute I see it's down to half on the Watchman thing so it will take 500 litres - it will be nearly double this time last year I reckon.

I've never ever seen any of those value boxes in Morrisons or Aldi around here either. Both the above are the joys of country living!

    1. I think we do miss out sometimes. Money refunded so that’s good.

  4. Bloody hell that's annoying!! How much better would it have been for him to put in 400 litres and you just gate a partial refund. Some systems just do not make sense do they!

Unfortunately we do not have any supermarket petrol stations near us so we are paying £1.98 for diesel at the moment, and with a full tank for Alan's car needed on average every two weeks it's proving expensive.

    1. I can imagine. We have just had to phone them again as got an email to say they will try delivery tomorrow so we have cancelled it for now.
