Tea

Our favourite loose leaf tea rose by 20p from last week. We bought 3 packets just in case. Had to go to another shop later in the week. It was still at the previous old price, so bought 3 more. The difference cancelled each other out making them the regular price, if that makes sense!

Berries seem to be very expensive this year or is it just me?

Petrol prices have been the same for over a week -  a mini price win. Still trying though to not travel far.

  1. Well done on the tea., it's one things I never would like to go short of. I have sent off for another 3 blueberry bushes to join my existing 2 residents as I'm not sure they will be affordable in the future. Hoping for a good blackberry year too.

    1. Our blackberry is going to be the only successful fruit this year, plus rhubarb.

  2. Yes I think berries are expensive this year. A 400g punnet of strawberries is £3 in the supermarket and they're grown locally so haven't got transport costs!! Even my local PYO place is £3 a punnet for strawberries and raspberries. Very much a luxury item for me so I do without and I suspect a lot of folks are choosing to do without

  3. It used to be free to put air in tyres at Sainsbury's then it was 30pence and now its 50pence. I had an electric pump and didn't get on with it then it stopped working. The manual one is for emergencies and I struggle getting it onto the valve. I might have to try an electric one again.

  4. Prices on everything keep going up and now sale prices are what the regular price used to be here in my province. So frustrating.

    God bless.

    1. Indeed. Definitely got to be awake when shopping. I do sometimes wonder though if they are raising their prices on stock already in the stores just because they can.

  5. There is an app for your phone called Trolley. It's free and you can check out prices of your favourite brands in all the supermarkets. I save a lot on my cat's food by using it to shop around

    1. Only have a dumb phone but we buy the same things almost week in week out and do visit different supermarkets to do main shop so can check things out. Great idea though for those with a smart phone.
