Also if you forget the milk powder, the same thing happens. 6 hours is the minimum wait, sometimes leave it for 7 or 8 but no longer. Remove from heater and put in the fridge to get cold. We make it almost every week but it is not as thick as bought versions as they often have thickeners in them.Dchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02490191919855219024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-52396174699026777572014-12-04T17:35:33.908+00:002014-12-04T17:35:33.908+00:00Don't feel ill but also don't feel well, m...Don't feel ill but also don't feel well, most peculiar! Thank you - I shall dig it out and have another go. I hadn't been heating the milk as you describe so perhaps that will improve matters!Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10875708145472914122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-56439527942748175272014-12-04T16:20:50.851+00:002014-12-04T16:20:50.851+00:00I think it goes knobbly as I slash it with a razor...I think it goes knobbly as I slash it with a razor blade just before it goes in the oven. We begin with 2 tablespoons of dried milk stirred in a little of 1 litre semi-skimmed, then once a cream add the rest of the milk. We then microwave it for 8 minutes on full - mustn't boil, put the bowl in another bowl of cold water to bring it down to between 40-43C then stir in the fresh yoghurt. Pop it into the yoghurt maker then 6 hours later it is usually ready.Dchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02490191919855219024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-81056392436218391722014-12-04T16:00:30.694+00:002014-12-04T16:00:30.694+00:00More of that lovelysoup will no doubt fill you wit...More of that lovelysoup will no doubt fill you with vitamins and nutrients and help knock that threatening cold on the head. We have never been very successful at making yogurt, I have tried different ways and recipes and even bought very cheap an Easiyo pot with the sachets, all to no avail, we just buy the buckets of Greek yogurt from Lidl now. Hubby put the breadmaker on timer last night so we would have fresh bread this morning and he didn't put the paddle in properly, so this morning we just had a cooked sticky mess in the pan...yuk! I'm glad you have more success with your bread and yogurt, soup looks delicious too :-)Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11228988475838309316noreply@blogger.com
