The health standards are not as high in US slaughterhouses as those in the U.K., hence the need for chlorine, so the problem is what it’s hiding. As for beef, because of growing demand a lot of cattle are being reared in stock yards, not pasture, and their growth is being accelerated by hormones. Watch a film called Dominion or a programme about cattle rearing in the Us or how pigs are reared in the southern states with slurry being sprayed onto land to get rid of it to the detriment of people living nearby, mostly black and poor. We are not blameless here in the U.K. either. All this to feed growing populations. We cannot continue to “process” animals in this way. We are eating too much, wasting too much and need to see an end to “eat as much as you want”, get a 48oz( and bigger) steak for free if you can eat it all. If you want to see a film about animal rearing in the U.K. watch “Land of hope and glory”. Both films require a strong stomach.Clarelouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12683794891395508909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-81694969572653530672020-06-06T08:10:13.542+01:002020-06-06T08:10:13.542+01:00I gather it was an electronic vote that was a bit ...I gather it was an electronic vote that was a bit iffy. I understand the reason for it. Our quick grow chicken farms are abhorrent, as are countries farmers that still use caged hens, or pigs that live all their short lives penned into tight crates, none of which I eat. Incidences of the above are not very common over here.Dchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02490191919855219024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-40683358051041911422020-06-06T04:47:33.538+01:002020-06-06T04:47:33.538+01:00Total agreement here. I went to Mexico for a wedding and was sick more times then I care to remember. The salads and other stuff was washed in a Milton type solution. You get a mouthful that tasted of bleach, horrid. I hope and pray this will encourage British farmers to increase production. <br />Living Alone in Your 60'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08848266282669835475noreply@blogger.com
