I think it would be ideal if we did and a good way to budget for food.Unfortunately no electric in garage outside nor space for another freezer inside, but definitely something to consider if we do move in the future.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00462752559193522943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-24083535448758961602013-09-29T16:54:20.654+01:002013-09-29T16:54:20.654+01:00This is a regular autumn job for us too, but we ha...This is a regular autumn job for us too, but we had a storm a couple of weeks ago which left us without electricity for 4 days! Just 24 hours too long for the freezer so we moved it all to the fridge and cooked all the raw meat the next day. The fruit and vegetables we put back in the freezer - they had softened but will be Ok to eat. The cooked dishes and the ice cream we threw away. Our freezer list is very short.syrahsuziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00696752759302952768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-9689363706110340982013-09-29T16:46:43.701+01:002013-09-29T16:46:43.701+01:00I did my last freezer audit with every intention o...I did my last freezer audit with every intention of keeping on top of things by crossing things off the list as they were used. Although my intentions were good I didn't manage it for as long as I'd hoped. I know that at the moment I have lots of apples, French beans, courgette soup, tomato soup, tomato sauce and sweetcorn in there along with a few homemade ready meals, but anything else is a mystery!Scarlethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01729719876504930455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-26030772363539667312013-09-29T15:57:28.400+01:002013-09-29T15:57:28.400+01:00Most meals are eaten within a few months but fruit...Most meals are eaten within a few months but fruit can be longer and still seems edible, no matter what freezer books tell you. Sometimes though one might 'get lost' in the freezer when it's been forgotten and a nice surprise when it comes to light again. I'm talking a few weeks as opposed to months. Never too sure how long a cooked dish would stay edible so err on the side of safety and discard if unsure.<br />Patricia xPatriciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16116574112768767203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339317216265636215.post-34919811712437185842013-09-29T12:54:32.132+01:002013-09-29T12:54:32.132+01:00You are very organised. I have whittled the supplies down and so we only have a portion of cottage pie left in there, so perfect timing before restocking over the season.L-Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02410487777398378722noreply@blogger.com
