Having brought back two or three bunches of dried flowers from DDiL's mother house, thought it about time I got on and arranged them. It all made a huge mess but eventually, 3 arrangements were done and all the rubbish put out in the gardening bin. We had been into a new French style old and new craft shop in town and found 2 zinc jugs. They will sit either side of the wood burner until we need to warm our pyjama's or dry our bath towels,
then they will be lifted up to sit either side of the mirror above the mantle-piece:
There were just enough Nigella and a few dried grasses to create another posy for the dining room:
They look lovely - very french indeed :)
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely next to your woodburner. On my computer screen I am getting a kind of shaded lilac background to the inside of your woodburner alcove which really goes with the flowers. Is it really that colour or is it a touch of the 'blue and cream dress' syndrome? It looks really nice either way!
ReplyDeleteThe colour is Dulux Hessian as the room colour (we both thought is slightly pink rather than hessian) then we added a bit of fushia to a small pot until we got a colour we liked. That colour is what you can see!
Deletelove the jugs, and agree with the flowers in them they add a "french" taste to your house. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we love the jugs as well.
DeleteThat looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the mess, I used to sell dried flower arrangements (done by me) in my first shop, you should have seen the state of the place after a days arranging :-)
Love the jugs.
Thank you. It is a long while since doing dried flowers, forget how messy they are.
DeleteThose jugs look so effective next to the log burner and you've done a good job with the arrangements too xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, thought they would look good there.
DeleteThe flowers in those jugs look great ....
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteMaybe put a big sheet down next time....
ReplyDeleteWon't be a next time, a one off experience!
