Storm Doris is proving a real handful. We have strong winds with gusts of 60 - 70mph. One fence post broke at the bottom on our neighbours fence and we all went out to help him put up props to stop it blowing down.
So far the rain hasn't been too bad but the wind isn't due to reduce for a few hours yet. I think some seaside areas are having a bad time. Hope you are all keeping safe.
I've been reading several blogs that have posted about the storm. Be safe!! xo

Thank you, although our storms are probably not so dramatic as yours!
DeleteA supermarket in Blackpool lost its roof, and there has been some serious damage in our town, with trees coming down and a collapsed roof on a public building, but where I am it hasn't been as bad as I expected.
ReplyDeleteWe are in quite a dip so some weather blows over us, not today. A few more hours then hopefully it will be gone.
DeleteWe have lost a fence panel, although it was old and rickety, gives us the push to replace it. I'm glad it wasn't a high tide today, makes the prom a bit safer for those who ventured out. At about 4pm it was gloriously sunny and everything looked beautiful. Hope there's not much damage where you are.
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard anything too dreadful but a bus got blown over and a few lorries.
DeleteWe all hope that you are keeping safe . . . that kind of wind could blow you away to who knows where. I'll be watching by backdoor . . . if it blows you here, come in and I'll put on a pot of tea :)
ReplyDeleteStay safe,
Connie :)
Blimey, if I get blown over there, I will need a cuppa:)
DeleteMy daughter posted a video on Facebook - out of her Manchester office window, other tall buildings like the Hilton Hotel were moving in the wind, and some were HUMMING!! Weird!
ReplyDeleteVery weird although I believe newer buildings have wind resistance built in.
DeleteStay safe.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you.
DeleteA tree hit my daughters car, thankfully they are safe. The gate and post are damaged and the shed door is now hanging off. Hopefully that will be the end of it.
ReplyDeleteVery lucky. No more repairs here thank goodness.
DeleteWe had perfect laundry weather here - as long as you had storm pegs. No fences downed, but the contents of a few bags of rubbish split open by the foxes fluttered down the street. We returned from the North just the day before, I think we timed it well, my in-laws studio roof blew off.
ReplyDeleteGosh, hope they can get it fixed soon as.
