Change the tilt and turn window in the lounge. It is letting in drafts and noise. Also the wooden window sill inside is going at both ends so that too will need replacing.
Replace the bathroom radiator. This has needed doing now for 2 years and is getting very rusty.
Also, whilst it is being changed, we need to double flush the system to clean out the gunge that is building up and also change two bleed valves on the lounge radiator.
Onwards and upwards!
Sounds like it will be a bit costly. We don't have rads here so I'm not sure of the cost versus central heating. I did some renovation at the end of 2017, so the place is in order, de-cluttered and clean. My goal for the year is to keep it that way, and to use my library card more than my credit card. I hope you have a great year and best of luck with the repairs.ReplyDelete
Thanks. Won’t be cheap but needs doing.Delete
I guess you have central heating and double glazing where you are - pretty much unheard of over here in Australia still. I hope you can spread the cost out somehow.ReplyDelete
Heating our homes costs a lot of money. We are on oil (no choice), and electricity isn’t cheap either to pump the hot water around. We try to use our wood burner mostly when on our own but when visitors are here, the heating is used.Delete
