Nigella at Christmas

I have been watching this series just to see what she would come up with. Some interesting things that might be worth doing if I could be bothered. Last night, she was 'away' and I wondered where it was filmed.

Being able to find such things reasonably quickly, as that is what I used to do, here is the kitchen she was cooking in. The fridge freezer is different, it was decorated for Christmas and filmed from the right of the island so you didn't see the breakfast bar:

You could book it this week for just a little under £3200!!!

  1. Good morning, I wondered where the programme was filmed. What a sleuth you are to find out. I see she acquired a dog as well to escort her on a forest walk. It is all so silly. At one time in the programme Nigella said to try and be perfect is a nonsense but her production team and all the "runners" spent a lot of time (and money) on setting the scene in this country retreat trying to make it perfect. They must have bought all the props with them as I recognised her food mixer in rose gold from her kitchen in her own home (if it is her own home it now makes me wonder if it is all a set). I find her programmes interesting but rather silly and fatuous, with the odd good tip along the way. I always cook a ham in the way she featured many moons ago, boiling it in ginger ale and then roasting for half an hour in the oven covered in ginger preserves. If you like ginger it is delicious. I wonder how many people relying on food banks relate to the excess of these programmes. Regards Sue H.

  3. That's our Christmas break sorted then ..... haha ;-)

It's surprising how many people think that these series are filmed in the cooks own house, very few are. It was a very nice Christmassy programme to watch but she is getting just a little bit too into character these days.

  5. I think Nigella lives in cloud cuckoo land....or at least a world that most of us certainly don't inhabit. I've never liked her arch looks to camera, but completely went off her a few years back when she announced on one of her programmes that people come from miles around just to sample her Marmite sandwiches....she mixes Marmite with butter to spread on the bread. Oh puhleeese!!

  7. I love to watch Nigella. She seems so far removed from most peoples reality it makes me chuckle. Her descriptions are legendary and I'm surprised she can cook anything in her kitchen without tripping over fairy lights. I love it for a bit of escapism though. X

  8. Sam Wollaston reviewed the programme in the Guardian yesterday - all about making us lesser mortals feel even more inadequate than usual - it's hilarious and I highly recommend it - just google Sam Wollaston Nigella review

  10. I don't know where the property filmed is situated, but the town where she visited one of our three butchers and wandered around is Ludlow in Shropshire where I now live again after 40 years away, it is a delightful place to live and to visit. Ali. P.S. I also recognised the stand mixer.

  12. I love Nigella I always do her brined Turkey it’s a faff but it definitely makes for a more moist meat also her recipes always work for me. I don’t think any of her programmes are in her own kitchen they’re all tv sets made to look like her home but I don’t care about that lol
