Get ready for Comet Ison early December

That is, if it survives its close encounter with our Sun.

See this link here

  1. My husband has been talking about this comet for some time now. Your link has helped me to understand a little more ! Thanks for that

  2. I saw it on a news programme last week. I remember seeing a comet a few years ago. I cant remember the name but it you could even make out a 'tail'.

    1. I think the last comet was Hale-Bopp in 1996/97. I can't remember seeing that one though.

  3. Thank you! I am really interested in this. I remember seeing the Hale-Bopp comet over several evenings 16 years ago according to the article! We were on holiday in France with our children, and we could see the comet from the car when we returned from days out - I think it was at Easter time.

  4. You are welcome Tiddles! I can't seem to drag this one up from my memory so perhaps missed it or it was too cloudy here or some such thing. Really hoping that this one survives its trip around the sun and that we actually get to see it. Apparently it is its one and only time through our solar system!
