I realised that all my Uni journals were up in the attic so got DB to bring them down. There would be work in there that I could reuse in my junk journal, spare pages of paper for dyeing and grey board at the back for reusing. There were quite a few as you can see:
DB worked on them once I had removed what I wanted, removing the grey back and shredding anything with my identity on it.
I tried to do this a few years ago but couldn't bring myself to do it. However, they have now been up there for 11 years without a glance so the time was now!
The contents have given me lots of things to play with...
I was surprised that ziffit purchased some of our uni books- even though it was 40+ years ago that I graduated. But I am not going to need these things any more...
ReplyDeleteQuite a few of mine went to EBay and Amazon plus libraries.
DeleteIt took me a while to get rid of resources I'd made, and things I'd accumulated for teaching, but I can't part with my assignments. Sometimes I read them to remind myself what I was once capable of. Nice to have some things you can repurpose!
ReplyDeleteI have kept my written assignments plus feedback, as well as the feedback and results of all work. Maybe a future read for others?
DeleteI sold all my books to the uni students book store once I left. I kept a couple of psychology books that I loved. I parted with the stuff because the boxes were so heavy. It's hard to do.
ReplyDeleteMost text and art books went to EBay, the uni library or the town library. Luckily, I had kept all my textbooks on making books!
DeleteWow! Good for you!

Glad to feel able to do it at last. Another chapter closed.
DeleteBrilliant, I bet it felt satisfying going through that lot too :-)
ReplyDeleteIt certainly did. If they live up there, no point in keeping them.
DeleteIt's very hard to shred things that were once part of your life. I struggle with that.
